STILL LIFE PAINTINGS

The simplicity of light on objects was the catalyst for my interest in still life painting. It offered so alluringly the observation of the dark/light chiaroscuro in more solid forms and the shattering of objects into a myriad of abstract shapes in more reflective objects. Born out of these visual sensations was the interest in the implied presence of humanity. The objects belonged to someone, occupied their space and were intertwined in the personal history of their life.
